Unmuting the Womb: From Silence to Sovereignty

The silence is breaking. At Youterus Health, we’re inviting you to join a powerful movement that celebrates our health journeys, resilience, and cultural wisdom.

Inspired by the Griot Tradition

For centuries, West African Griots have been storytellers, memory keepers, and changemakers. Through their oral histories, songs, and poetry, Griots connect communities with their roots and ignite transformation. We’re inspired by this rich tradition, to document, preserve, and amplify the health journeys that have long gone untold.

The Freetown Hub Is Alive

At the heart of our campaign lies the Freetown Hub, a dynamic center in Sierra Leone where impactful change is already taking root. This space is a center for research, advocacy, and collaboration. Here, a team of dedicated professionals is driving rigorous research on uterine health, shining a light on issues that are often overlooked. It’s also a space where advocates and changemakers are fostering critical conversations with key health actors, creating pathways for systemic change.

Amidst this investigative and advocacy work, the hub is alive with vibrant energy, bringing together artists, storytellers, and visionaries to celebrate and document the multifaceted experiences of uterine health.

What’s Happening and How You Can Be Part of It

This campaign is a creative explosion of storytelling and culture. Here are the exciting ways we’re bringing this movement to life, and how you can get involved.

Storytelling That Moves

We’re collecting womb stories from African and Afrodescendant women, individuals with uteruses, healers, and healthcare providers. Whether it’s a story of advocacy, a traditional healing practice, or a personal health challenge, every voice matters. By sharing these stories, we’re breaking taboos, building connections, and creating a safe space for truth.

Want to share your story? Reach out to us, it’s your turn to be heard.

Capturing Empowerment Through Photography

Our campaign’s bold imagery will shine light on the strength and diversity of African womanhood. We’re working with photographers to capture vibrant, culturally rich visuals that tell stories in layers each photo a piece of a larger narrative, alive with emotion and pride.

Are you a photographer with a unique lens to share? Join us in creating something unforgettable.

Art That Speaks Loudly

From collages to fabric narratives, African artists are painting resilience, weaving healing, and transforming health experiences into tangible expressions. Their art will feature in exhibitions, advocacy campaigns, and digital galleries, celebrating the intersection of heritage and health.

Artists, are you ready to leave your mark? This is your time to bring a story to life.

Digital Platforms and Exhibitions

It doesn’t stop at Freetown. We’re taking these powerful stories and visuals to global audiences through virtual exhibitions.
